    Okay here goes.

First off, my plug in power cord for my laptop has broke. The power cord comes in two parts, the big rectangle which goes into the laptop and the cord that goes into the wall. The part that goes into the wall (and into the rectangle on the other side) has broke.

I got a friend's cord, which was from an old Dell. The bios reads that it's 150W so it seems like it's okay.

I read that using a different PSU than the default one affects performance. Is this true?

Ever since I switched I began to notice that my clocks (read on GPU-Z) were stuck at 300, 400. Is this a result of switching the power cord? I tried a power drain but it seems like it has no effect.

Basically I'm just asking what could possibly be wrong S:

    Thanks for the help ^^

how is your stealth mode? is it off?

about the cord, can you take picture of which part is actually broken? :)

I just went into the bios setup and noticed that it doesn't actually read the power rating on the adapter. It's weird, because sometimes it reads that it's 150W and everything is fine. Other times, it'll say "unknown" and during startup it'll display the error message regarding it. And no, stealth mode is not on. It's off so that's not the problem.

The cord circled in red is the part that was broken and was replaced.

On a side note, my idle temps for my gpu are around 45 degrees and my cpu around 34 degrees. Are these normal?

i think you should try with another PSU and see whether the problem still occur or not...

the only thing different on the cord between one and another is the fuse.., some cord using 5A fuse... (my 150W come with 5A) and some is 13A (like my 240W one), but i don't think that gonna affect your clock..

as for temp, it's a good and normal temp i believe..
