    Greetings all,

After reading this site the other day I decided to go ahead and throw two
Corsair 8gb 1333mhz ram sticks into my M15x since it was proven here to work. I'm fairly competent with computers and the physical upgrade went off without a hitch. Now; upon first boot. Windows failed to start. Weird. Restart. Bsod. Okay, power drain and reseat ram. Boots into windows. All start up Programs and explorer keep crashing. Reseat again. Memtest. Memory is okay. Restart. Explorer is fine but other programs are still crashing. System restore. Programs still crashing.

Next step. Enlist help of notebook review forum!

    Please help!!

    Thanks.

Do you guys need more info?

Or is it just as baffling to you as it is to me?

That is odd. What CPU do you have installed, and do you have windows 7? Updated to A09 bios?

I was going to say reseat and memtest, but you did that already. Put your old ram back in there and see if everything goes back to normal.

The only other thing I could think of is reinstalling windows if everything else fails.......

I'm almost positive that 8gb sticks will only work with the i7's

Yeah, thats why I asked about the CPU :D

Though, it is posting and booting to windows, when I tried to use my 8Gb sticks with my i3 it would not even post...

Just as an update for those curious about doing this upgrade.

Long story short. My m15x doesn't like corsair ram.

Went back to the store, tried another set of 8gb corsair sticks.

    Same crashing.

Switched to Mushkin 8gb sticks. Problem solved and machine

    is running well.

    Thanks guys.
