so i bought my M15x from best buys defective resell ebay outlet and it didnt come with restore discs. It also was missing the original hard drive so there is no restore partition either.
Is there a way to get the original cds or even ISO images of them so I can restore my M15x and make use of my original windows cd key?
Anyone with ideas please let me know!

Dont use the restore/respawn discs as those drivers are really quite dated; also, you run the risk of ruining your alienfx by installing an older version of the command center. The alienware OS disc is just a simple win7 disc which isnt specific to alienware. All you need to do is install win7 and grab the drivers off the dell site. There is a thread to have the laptop being how it was from factory essentially, thread is called something all the lines of 'how to restore the alienware look'.

Grab any Windows 7 disc and input the number on the bottom of the machine. This is how you do a Windows installation ( Link). Also the drivers can be obtained in that website :)

Just wanted to say thanks guys I'll try that in the next while. I might just try to change my cd key through the windows utility. I'll let you know how it goes when I have time to fix it if something goes sour!
