    Hello all,

Just a single question , sorry if this is already discussed here.

I had a GTX 260m on my laptop, which i changed(using dell service) with a GTX 460M..everything good so far...but, I tried lately to use the DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter in order to see some moviezz on the TV using this same exact model of DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter:

DELL DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter for Dell Latitude / Alienware Laptops / Optiplex Desktop / Precision Mobile WorkStations : Desktop Accessories | Dell

Without no change , there is not signal or some recognition from the laptop that i have this on my tv connected...

Please anyone, what should I do... is this display port installed correctly? How should I enable it? I am really stuck here.

Device manager shows everything installed and good...but I connected the tv with this HDMI adapter and no chance to work :(

All help will be much appreciated.

    Thanks!!

I used mine with the TV for the first time yesterday - TV is a 52" Sharp 1080p LCD. I connected it to the TV input, then switched the TV to the input that the laptop was on. Immediately, the laptop screen flashed briefly, then both displays came on. HDMI is funny - TV has to tell the display card what it can display. While you could have a dead adapter, I'd play around with inputs. Also, be sure the computer is not trying to send a resolution that the TV can't handle.

    Good luck,

    Joe

I'd suggest trying a different brand/model TV as some just won't work.
I had issues with my 70" Mitsubishi but had no problem with the 40" Panasonic
Eventually I resolved my issue with an Nvidia driver update.
I'm running 275.27 as several others on NBR are and no problems yet!
    Good luck! :D

    Edit: Wrong Link.
    Here's the 275.27
    And the 267.76
These seems to be the most stable Beta and WHQL out there.

Thank you, all for the response...

My TV is a Sony Bravia 32 inch.... i think for sure is not the TV...

Maybe is the adapter, or directly from the lap and for sure i will need to see someone to fix it :p

By the way, yes i am using 275.27 too :p
    Thanks again for the info.

If you've verified with several other TV's through HDMI, go for it!
    Good luck!

No, you can remove the optical drive and put a HDD there, you only need a caddy that fits.

Actually, you can have both. --http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827249077

With an external DVD or BR drive, you can have two internal drives. Of course, it means more to carry if you need the optical capability away from home..

yes, for now it is ok with what i have...

and about the Display Port, i was amazed about the quality of the video played and also the support for sound via HDMI :) really is awesome.

Better than anything I had before, even if on previous laptops (Including M17xR3 :) ) with direct HDMI port, I didn't had the quality I have !
