So which is the best one that you all have experience with?
And that will ship to Aus?

Do you have to have it plugged in all the time to use it?

This is the one that I purchased: USB 3.0 AKE Superspeed Card 34mm Inside Hide 2 USB 3.0 ports NEC chip | eBay

Haven't had any issues with it so far, besides lack of power when I tried to have it power two hard drives.

When I put it into my VPCZ1, it's very tight in the slot so there's no chance it it will accidentally come out when you unplug a USB cable from it (not sure if it's supposed to be like that). It's also a Renesas/NEC uPD720201/uPD720202 card. Seems to work in Windows 8 too.

Flush yes. However it won't stay in the port which is annoying so it starts to stick out again. Sometimes it will even get pulled out....

Ah bugger. Does it do it when things are connected to it?

Yes, however usually it will still stay in enough to remain connected. I am tempted to glue it in lol as I don't intend to use it for anything else lol...

Tis pretty nifty though. Throughput on a 2TB usb 2.0 HDD is up at 35mb/s about a 5mb/s improvement which is great. USB 3.0 devices would benefit alot more....

    Bummer.
As long as it stays connected though.
I probs won't glue it in, I plan to sell it maybe next year... Get a desktop or something, still keep my M11x though.

Yeah, I'm starting to make a nice collection of USB 3.0 hard-drives, so it'll make a nice enhancement to my workflow.
With like 5 externals at the moment, it's starting to get a bit insane... And I just keep collecting more of them!!! Gahh!!!

That it is a steal, I'm using the same one and apart from coming out while trying to remove a usb cable, no problems till now. The coming out issue I can live that for 2 dollars. Go take the plunge and you wouldn't regret it.

    That's the one!

I think mine was about 6 bucks... Cheap as anything.

It should come with a small disc with drivers, but I suggest you should either put the small disc either nto a different PC that doesn't have a slot load drive or google for a download.
The disc is one of thise tiny ones... 80mm, I wouldn't suggest that you put it into the slot-load.

If you have trouble finding the driver online or don't have another computer to copy them PM me and I'll upload them for you.

    All the best.
