Hey all, I have a M15x which hasn't been getting much use for a while.
While I'd love to keep it around in case I happen upon the cash for an upgrade that's not terribly likely to happen and I have a g73jh that needs some lovin', so unfortunately the m15x and it's

    Anyhow, it's current specs are
    +i5 430m
+4 Gigs of Ram (have 2x4Gb I could pop in though)
    240m
    +Is Red (adds 5% fps I think)
    *Edit + 1920 x 1080 screen
    -Currently no battery
-missing one bottom and screen rubber feet
What should I reasonably ask for in terms of pricing?

That'd be around $300-$400. I recommend you to ask this on the NBR Marketplace and to check eBay to establish a comparison point.

Hmm I think your decision should be to ditch the asus and keep the M15x. The G73jh is the inferior laptop here. The M15x has MUCH better upgrade options and cooling just to start.

You can very easily jam a 920xm then OC it to 3.6ghz stable on stock cooling and then put a 970M inside plug and play.

On the G73jh not so easy and it wouldn't be able to cool a 3ghz+ 920xm to save its life.

So yeah keep the Alienware and sell the Asus if you have sense :)

I think you're right that the M15x is the better laptop. I'm going to have to think if I should keep the m15x and pop an beefier card in or sell both and pick up something lower powered like a EeeBook Z50 or something as I don't need much more than that while traveling and I recently built a new desktop.

If I could retrofit it for closer to $300 it'd definitely be more tempting, But it looks like it'd be around $200 for the 920xm and $250 for a 770m or similar.
It is a shame though, I doubt there's going to be many more laptops with such an open layout down the line, something very much unlike the possibly undead Studio 1558 I've been trying to diagnose.
