Ok so i've been having these weird problems with my wireless connection for about a month. First i thought my ISP is the culprit, but the net was working fine on my phone and on my other computers via WLAN. The connection just kept getting worse, although the signal bars were fine (4/5). Now sometimes i can't even connect to my router on my M15x, or sometimes i get limited acces when i'm connected and I can't acces the internet. With cable or a 3G usb stick it's working but with wireless it isn't, altough i tried on other wireless connections. Any advice?

    Thanks

I have the Dell 1520 WLAN card

Interference? Live in a crouded area? Lots of wireless accesspoints? On top of a microwave?
Try switching your wireless router to use a different channel at least 3 channels away from the one that has the highest signal strenght.

Check to see if the card is using n band. The other bands can be more easily impacted by cordless phones and adjacent channel use. Note that, even though the card supports N, you do need to use WPA in oder for n to be active. There may be other hints - but first check to see if it's using N.

Here is a link to a discussion on configuring Dell cards for n. Near the bottom of the page is a detailed description of the process: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/network-internet-wireless/f/3324/t/19312385.aspx

You do need to use WPA-AES security.

    Good luck,

    Joe

Yes plenty of hints dont forget any radio abgn doesnt like metal or concrete.
Treat ur wireless router as a star :D put it as high as possible so it can beam its energy well across.
