    Hello,

I have Alienware m15x laptop, and I used to have closing the lid action to hibernate my laptop, however it's not working anymore, i checked the windows power management setting and it seems OK.

    thanks.

Did you check if hiberation is still enabled? Are you sure you don't mean sleep? If you click the battery/AC icon in the tray (bottom right on windows 7) and click "More power options" then click "Choose what closing the lid does" from the options on the left hand side, does it show that closing the lid enables sleep mode?

yes hibernate is enabled, i can do it from start menu, shutdown option,
the setting for what will close the lid do in power options is set to hibernate,
and even when i set it to sleep, it doesn't go to sleep.

    :(

No idea then, sorry. It could be a problem with the sensor that detects when the lid is closed. Hopefully someone like Luis @Alienware-L_Porras can offer some advice about that.
You can make it Hibernate or Sleep by selecting it in the shutdown menu right?

It does seem like the sensor has gone bad because it is able to do it when you manually set it. You could try a clean install of Windows or an AlienRespawn but it may just remain the same if that's the case.
