    You don't need to spend that much on an HDMI cable. 1.3 or 1.4 is fine, but I'd say you need to spend a max of $10 on one. There's a myth that more expensive cables give a better quality picture. This is rubbish, and the only thing you get for your money is a better build quality. I live in the UK so can't advise where to get one from - but ebay is often what I use. This will work perfectly:

    HDMI cables are universal, ignore the Xbox/PS3 etc that people list them as being for, they only do that to get the max hits on their advert.

    yeah but if you ever go 3d in the future you could use that 1.4 hdmi cable for it instead of buying a separate one.....

    Got the displayport to hdmi cable from dell aus ($24.20 shipped) and the hdmi cable linked above ($6). Both work flawlessly. Plug n play!

    I have a 10 dollar cable from china. It gets the job done but it seriously get hot sometimes.
