with thoses specs its a r2.
now having said that officially there is no r2, let me explain. alienware pre dell was the alienware m15x. then dell bought out alienware and released there own alienware m15x which we all call the r2 but the r2 is not official. we simply call it the r2 to save confusion. But as i have mentioned the specs you listed above are the r2 so to speak. latest version of the alienware m15x.
    hope this explains.

or look at it this way, alienware pre dell were c2d processors if i remember correctly, after dell bought alienware and made there own version of the m15x they were i-series processors.

There is actually no "R2 or R1" There are two models:

    1.) Area 51 Alienware m15x (Pre dell) C2D + MXM 2.1 GPU

    2.) Alienware M15x (Dell) I7 Clarkesfield + MXM 3.0 GPU

Only with the M17x and M18x are there R1,2,3,4 etc
    EG, M18x R1, M18x R2, M17x R2, R3 + R4

    Hope this helps
