    Hey

I've begun to notice that my M15x has been having troubles with the gpu and sleep mode. When I first turn on the laptop everything works fine. However after putting it to sleep mode, I would turn it back on and notice that the gpu fans would not work as hard as they usually will. I also notice a drop in performance in games.

So I open up GPU-Z and notice clock speeds are only running at half of what they normally run at. Is this a throttle issue with the laptop or a sleep mode issue? I was also wondering if anyone else has run into this problem and/or has a solution.

If any other information is needed I'd be glad to provide it. Thanks :)

dont know about sleep mode, but when my GTX260m experienced a crash (during benchmarking) the GPU clocks would be stuck at the "throttle" clock speeds until i reboot.

apparently its just something nvidia does =P

Yeah, usually a reboot would fix this problem. But I'm just wondering if there is a solution that doesn't involve rebooting every time haha.

On a side note I updated my bios to A09. I have done this before but I noticed the EC version was still 1.16. Updated it to 1.18 and I'll see if there is any different results.

Uhm, I'm not entirely sure what EC version is for S:

But updating that doesn't seem to fix the problem. I also noticed when I put the laptop into stealth mode, the clocks run at 300-400MHz. And then after putting the laptop into sleep mode and finding the problem, the clocks run at the same speed. Maybe does the problem have to do with stealth mode?

When ever I go on battery and plug back in; it down clocks I just hit stealth mode on and off to fix it . If I put it to sleep it will do the same
    so I just use hibernate..

EC = Embedded Controller. Controls various background tasks -- keyboard controller, fan controller, battery status and use, sensor reading/reporting, some power regulation, etc. Highly customizable.
