Well finally got round to installing Windows 11 over 10. No major issues and no unrecognised drivers in devicen manager.

Seems to be working fine! m15x from 2010 still working with the latest os. Happy that she is still workign as my daily driver when at home!

Anyone else upgraded to Windows 11 on a m15x?

Haven't tried 11 on my M15x but my M11xR3 also runs 11 perfectly fine. All drivers working even Intel HD 3000.

What was the workaround you used to install 11 on these?

Hmm, this is strange, device manager is showing as everyhting installed (as in no exclamation marks) but there is no bluetooth module loaded. I actually dont think i have ever had or used bluetooth on this m15x. I will reboot into the bios now to check if it is enabled there. If it is, i will do some research and see if i can find a driver and get it working.

I believe there are many different ways but my method was to go on the official Microsoft website. I downloaded both the win11 and win10 iso. I took the install.esd file from the win11 iso and copied and replaced it in the win10.iso. Then ran setup.exe from the win10.iso. It says its installing windows 10 but really its windows 11 and it bypassed the checks. Not sure if it still is working, should do. Plenty of guides on youtube.

    Hope this helps
