    Is it compatible with m15x?
    Have anyone tried?

    GeForce GTX 675M
    GeForce GTX 670M
    GeForce GTX 660M

i have tried the 580m and the m15x can only access 3 of its 4 p-states
honestly its not worth trying any of the new nvidia cards seeing how the ati cards are doing so much better.
If anything the only card i would try out would be the 660m, the other cards are not going to work properly and would probably throttle to much on the m15x

Safe to assume that 560m is the best option available? (Not considering the price cost)

Had a bad heat experience with AMD before.
But seeing the specs it offers definitely is very tempting.

Mind sharing your experience with 6990m, will you be trying out 7970m as well?

the 6990m was good, i would say great, at first i had shutdowns but i fixed that with a slight heatpipe mod and some thermal pads.

and yes i was going to try the 660m and or the 7970m but later on as i mostly use the desktop now for gaming, and the lappy for work.

the problem is literally 10mins ago my m15x decided to die on me while it was shutting down after i had updated my ipod. just heard abit of an electrical sound and a bit of a burning smell coming from the gpu fan area, the psu light went out to but the psu still work battery indicator is good its just then m15x wont respond at all, i think another user lost there m15x this week to, well i off the try to get some info and replacement parts. but first i have to dust off the old hp lappy and get my work backed up for the m15x ssd.... fun times to come, fun timessssssssss :(

I saw a lot people are awaiting for 680m before deciding as well.

    Good luck !

That is awful news Mexic00ls. Sounds just like with my clevo w860cu (twice) lol.

Really hope you can revive it.

As for new cards OP jump to the 7970M and don't even consider the 680M. It is not only the price difference and the wait which make it undesirable but also more specifically and importantly the M15x's known behaviour issues towards the high end modern nvidia cards.

AMD is a proven choice and the 7970M will always be near the top even after the release of the 680M.

What mods did you have to make to get the 670m to work with the M15x?
