I have two Samsung Syncmaster SA300 monitors. I'm still waiting to get the correct cable to run two monitors (VGA & Displayport to DVI), but in the meantime I'm running a single VGA to one of the monitors and I'm getting a ghosting effect. I tried this on both monitors, and even tried a $35 dollar VGA cable, I'm still getting a ghosting effect. What can I do to remedy this problem?

Also to add, I am only showing the display on the external monitor and not on the laptop screen.

Hello, Rogue, can you give more details about your ghosting problem, maybe post a picture.
    Is your VGA cable shielded?

I'm asking this as there are quite a few instances that can cause a ghosting effect thru VGA connection.

Also, any reason you don't use your HDMi port instead?

    Hey Katalin, thanks for helping.
My monitors only have VGA & DVI, so I don't have the option of trying HDMI.
In order to get my setup working I need one monitor on DVI (through a displayport adapter) and the second one monitor on VGA. I am awaiting my DVI adapter, so I'm only running one monitor at the moment (through VGA).

This is the VGA cable I'm using... Gigaware™ 6-Ft. Super VGA Male to Male Monitor Cable - RadioShack.com It does have the caps on the cables, but I'm not sure if that's enough shielding.

Here is a picture of my task bar... http://specialedit.com/post/error/ghost.JPG
The most noticeable one is the wifi bars. There is an extra ghost white bar to the right of it. If I was to describe the ghosting effect, it's almost like a horizontal motion blur in photoshop.

What i meant was using the HDMi output on your laptop with a HDMi to DVI cable.

Looking at the cable in the link you posted, i don't think one can get a really better one so it leads me to believe that they went cheap on the VGA equipment of your monitors, just like many others with multiple input connections and there's nothing to be done, sadly.

Ya you use a displayport to HDMI adapter. My M15x included one in the box.

I am not very familiar with this, but VGA or HDMI port from the laptop depends on our gpu?
Mine is 260m, with a VGA port only.
So what I need to do is connect VGA to HDMI?
