I'm looking to sell my M15x so I just did an AlienRespawn back to the factory state. The mouse scroll is no longer working. I tried updating/uninstalling/re-installing the driver several times. Both through windows and by downloading it from Dell's driver page. I can only run the Dell download driver after windows auto detects/installs a driver because if I try to remove it it prompts me for a reboot. Upon reboot it automatically installs through windows. I remember having this issue when I first got my laptop but I do not remember how the hell I managed to fix it. If I go in to the scroll options under the Synaptics settings it is greyed out and I can't select anything. If I attempt to access it via the Alienware control panel, it crashes... Can anyone please help?

Got it working by installing a driver directly from Synaptics.

Great! I'm glad you found the reason :p
It happened to me after a Windows Update the other day, I just rolled back with Sys Restore and VOILA!
