    I originally had a Multi-DVD-Rewiter (model #: GA11N)...I just upgraded to:

    Blu-ray drive
    Model #: CA10N
Rom ver. A07 (i updated firmware to A108)

The problem is that when i slide ANY disc into the bd-rom drive it it sounds like it reads it then it kicks it back out it does not even spin!...i have cleaned the inside of it along with the laser eye.I bought another one and it does the same thing!...is there ANYTHING i am missing before or after the installation of the drive?

    Please help me,

    Matt

I don't have any personal experience here as my m15 came with the blu-ray drive and it never had that problem, however, I would think it's one of three things:

*Drivers - your new drive probably requires different drivers than your old drive. If you haven't updated them this could be the problem

*Drive Bad - how certain are you the drive was in perfect working order before installing it?

*Bad connection - If you have power going to the drive, however, the data connection is bad it can cause weird things to happen.

That's all I have for now... if I think of anything else later I'll add it :)

Are you sure you have installed the Blu-Ray drive?
    Maybe Dell miss you specs.

Here is my BD hardware ID:
    Code:
    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3B2F&SUBSYS_02A21028&REV_06
And a picture of the device property:

really interesting, you made me look at my drivers (pic attached). i thought i was running win7_a108 also, without issue, BUT found this (again pic reference, ver 6.1.7601...). since i archive my drivers, just before install, i need to see .. why this happened, (just rebuilt my machine weeks ago) where it is and how to get it to you. working on it still. -h-

edit: well the .zip file did come from dell > http://support.dell.com/support/dow...dateid=-1&formatid=-1&source=-1&fileid=325172
i did install it (driver) very late in my rebuild, i would download one more time, unzip, install that extracted file.
hope it helps, let us know. -h-
