I recently purchased a used M15x and would like to possibly upgrade it. I know I've seen tons of threads about upgrading but many of them are very specific to each user although i see a lot of common information. I am running windows 7 x64bit with an i7 q 740 @ 1.73GHz with 6gb ram and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730.

Any suggestions on upgrades that I can do. Money is a little tight but i dont mind saving. If any one has a good general list of parts that would be great or just any helpful hints and tricks to help me get the most out of my machine. I would like to be playing current gen games on it ASAP

    Thanks For the help.

I would look to upgrade the video card first, you can get by with the 740 for now though.

One user on this forum had success with the AMD Firepro M6000 graphics card as it was just plug and play. This card is <£100 in UK so you might look at availability where you are?
You might be able to pick up a 7970M for cheap second hand but I have no idea how much these goes for at the mo.

Take a look into m6100 quote a bit more punch than m6000 and older m8900(6970m) since m6100 works as plug n play in my m6600 even on bios a09 that does not officialy supports the gpu it would be worth a shot.

    Try shopbattery.net or Ztronics.
