    Hi!

I recently received my Alienware M15X (bought used) and built in an new Samsung SSD 850 Evo 256GB Version. I made a fresh windows 7 install and downloaded all recent updates (took hours and lot of restarts to do that^^)
But I'm a little bit dissapointet from the boot times and itself.
When I press the power button and start to measure the time, the whole start up needs about 40-45 seconds until everything has loaded.
I have also used those tips:
    http://www.disk-partition.com/kb/tips-ssd-optimization-windows7-1.html
They have helped a little bit, but most of them were alredy activated/deactivated. Only Windows 7 GUI is still activated now on my system.
Is this Boot Time normal on my M15X? Should I install Windows 7 again (without any programms/ only drivers and offline windows updates) and look if that could help?
My old msi ge600 with an A-Data 120GB SSD bootet in about 20-25 seconds. The Windows logo wasn't even able to fully build the window itself...

This text take about 5 or more seconds until the Alien appears. Is this normal? I can't find any Info about that... (but I think it's a vBios for the GTX680M)
Is there a way to dissable this text or is this necessary? (Yeah I know a few seconds are not that long, but I don't know if this text helps anything in the Notebook...)

Sounds quite normal. If you want faster boot times, go with windows 10 ;)

    Thank you!
Good to hear that it is normal on Winwos 7.
I only know the boot times from my PC with Windows 10 installed on an SSD they are about 20 seconds ;)

We don't usually recommend Windows 10 for the m15x, we don't support it. However, if the community endorses it and they haven't found out flaws or anything. Then by all means, I do prefer W10 over 7 or 8/8.1
