I bought my wife an Asus g73jh. Love that laptop. Bought a M15x for myself and I want to overclock my 5850 card to be on par with her 5870. I'm not going to over clock hers. My e-peen will diminish if I do that. :p

I have never over clocked before. I did browse through the forums here a little bit. I'm at work so my time is little. I didn't find information on how to do so.

Is there a step by step process on how to overclock my video card with safe settings that are not going to melt my beautiful new laptop into the desk?

you must try how much you can overclock the card by yourself with the amd gpu clock utility, and as other hd5850 owners said, at 5870 stock clocks the card runs cool

Thanks for the quick replies! I have been lurking these forums for the past 3 weeks. Found them while searching for info on the M15x. This seems like a good place full of knowledgeable people.
