I've been having this small humming sound for the last few days from the left side, checked the cpu fan but it seems ok... any advice??

by the way it only occurs when the fan is at lower levels

Could be coil noise... in this case you can't do anything about it.

May be some dust particles stuck up the fan. I would open up the service cover and clean everything up but like Ashtrix said, they won't mind sending you a new set of fans. :)
