I just fixed this error after I made it worst then made the same mistake again... I do not want to reinstall windows again. Yes I may be lazy but PLEASE is there any other way to fix this.
I recently installed a new solid state hard drive and I put my old internal seagate momentus 250gb 7200rpm into a Rosewill case. It would connect but I could not access the blank hard drive. This led me to think I was missing drivers. I went to download the one on dells website. It restarted my computer and stated this error. I proceeded to boot and delete the drivers I installed assuming it was trying to run something through those. Now this error is still there and I just got done reinstalling everything again -_-

any suggestions to make that message go away and allow my external hard drive to work?

Any questions I will do my best to answer.

My computer does boot fine I just don't want to hear a loud beep and hit any key everytime... especially since I just got a ssd to speed all this up -_-

I feel like I may have corrupted something since the install for those drivers did not complete properly.

If you think reinstalling windows again is the best way to fix this please let me know. However how do I get my external to work as the ways I have tried have resulted in failure.

Maybe people r not clear enough about your problem,

what error is pop up on start up screen? can u take a picture of it?

and u stating that ur hdd is connected but u can't access the disk? have u try using another external case? have u try another cable? or another USB port? have u use proper disk format?

in my case, my left usb port used to causing problem..., either un-detected device or somtimes give me BSOD if i plug something there...

after little trouble shooting it end up that the port got dust in it, i cleaned it and never happened again..

It just says non-system-disk and it's a black screen then says press any key to continue. I think it's cause I installed bad hard drive drivers. Or the wrong ones. However I can fix it I'll just need to wait for a day when I feel like reinstalling every driver and stuff over again.

Also I fixed the external hard drive issue I just had to partition it.

when u put your new ssd, did u clone your system partition into it before hand?

if there's no system installed in the SSD (or it's not installed properly) it definitely will say no system disk..

or are u trying to boot into system from external? if yes, u should choose your booting device to your external instead..

if u have clone your system to SSD and it said no system disk, then probably the bootmgr is bad, or the cloning is not 100% clone the system from your old disk...
