Wowza those are some slamming scores guys! I can't touch those! I'll stick to chasing down the gpu scores lol. No fsb on my mobo and it isn't extreme so it is what it is![]()

Only if I knew all of Mandrake's secrets, hehe I only started oc'ING and benching a few months ago, ever since I got the 5870. So I still consider myself a noob at this stuff. Couldn't have done it without the rev's help and a few pointers from Mandrake.

Yeah no kidding that guy's been running the boards in just about every area of the forum for a while, shoot when I bought my msi last year he was and has been ever since. I've only been benching for maybe 3-5 months now myself, so I'm right there in the noob higherarchy with ya! Funny thing is I haven't had any help from Drake but Rev has been an amazing help right along with you. Thanks again.

Thanks man took some work to get it there but here is some other benches. OCZ marketed rates are according to ATTO bench all the specific benchmarks run a different test and the results vary between each. Here you can see the crystalmark previously, with ATTO and AS SSD. I am very happy with the performance and the price i paid. My SSD is at 8.5gb with office, all drivers, firefox, and basic apps. On the 60gb i have 47.5gb to work with and then the storage drive. I did some tweaks according to this nbr guide and seems to have helped with the performance at the sacrifice of the battery life but that went out the door with the 920xm

Got some good news for you guys, at the very least this thread will be updated and maintained again. Looks like DR650 has been busy and not on here as much as he'd like so he's passing the torch on keeping up the bench thread and scores. He should be forwarding the code sheet to me in the next few days and I'll get the scores updated again as soon as I do. I should be able to update them pretty often as well. If anyone has had any updated benchies since the last update in August that will change the board I would appreciate me if you could post them again and pm me so I don't have to read through the whole thread. Thanks! I'll keep you all updated.
-
Wow that's great news. Thanks a lot dane, I know its a lot of effort to maintain the thread. Really appreciate it.
Dibs on first place, Hahaha. -

Lol, well if I have anything to do with it you might have first overall but the king always has to fall. I sense a falling in the 5850 ranks coming soon ....
It's not problem offering to keep it up, I enjoy it. The benching is all fun though and I know it's fun to give ya a run for your money, even if I don't take ya down(even though I'm gonna push it) I think I've givin ya a better run than most of the other 5850's have, lol.
-
hahah thanks to you i'm back in the benching spirit, some competition is always nice. hehehe
but you better bring it, hahhaha -
DaneGRClose Notebook Virtuoso
Trust me man I'm gonna bring it....check THIS out...didn't even break 60's on temp and ran smooth as glass, I still got room on this card and that record is mine tonight hahaha.
Go off the info on amdclocktool GPU-z seemed a bit fritzy this morning, and when I take your record it'll be a full run to keep everyone happy.
-
Wow a 995 run impressive. Guess I have to call in sick and bench all day, hehehe.
-
DaneGRClose Notebook Virtuoso
Got a little a/c hidden somewhere myself hehehe. I seriously think I can break the 1000 mark on core with no problem while still staying at or above 1150 vram. This is getting fun now!
-
i think i'm gonna try to up the voltage to 1.2v, i will keep you posted.
-
DaneGRClose Notebook Virtuoso
Doesn't exactly seem to healthy for it lol, every card I've seen that's come from Dell in the 5xxx series seems to not like 1.2v from what I've seen. Do you really want to risk frying that card with how well it runs? Check your pm's for another idea. I'm running the 995/1150 at 1.15v and still have head room, I don't think you're hitting a voltage wall I think it's a "your CPU is a power hogging sob" wall.

I get the same speeds as well.. seems like a limitation of m15x... -

@Inap or Faiz - I can't remember who did the last game benchmarks.. but I was thinking.. I saw a recent article on Tom's
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 : The Game Rundown: Finding CPU/GPU Bottlenecks, Part 1
Frankly I dont agree with how the article is setup or written..
So I wanted to ask.. for the folks with the 920/940xm .. can you run a benchmark of Battlefield bad company 2 @ stock clocks 2.0ghz, then at say 2.5ghz, then at 3.0ghz. I would keep the 5850 clocked at 700/1000 to say it's at 5870 stock settings. ATI CC at 10.8 (right?)
Utilize Fraps (F11 logging). Enter 32 man, conquest server, empty, enable logging once you actually get into the map (not menu) and then conquer each area, shoot stuff, throw grenades, etc... then stop logging before backing out of server. If you do that at each speed level, we can truly tell if raw mhz makes a difference.
Also, if one of you are willing to clock the I7 @ 2.26, then we can make a direct comparison between the I3-350 at 4 threads and the I7 at 8 threads.
The benchmarks should be pretty darn good comparison since my system is pretty optimized and i utilize a SSD, cl7 ram, 5850 at 5870 settings, and 10.8 driver.
To keep settings simple, setup bfbc2 to high settings, change shadows to LOW and AA = off and AF = off.
Also my screen is 900p so I dont know if your screens will scale at that level. I hope so.. if not then it ruins the camparison between mine.
What are your thoughts? Thanks! StevenX -

Finally done it, on a 260m gtx have reached 675/1100/1650 on A08 bios with no flashing of any kind stock 1.0v. Played GTA4 seems to be no problems will post benches later. Temp max at ~85/86C
-
Temps a little on the high side.... those are high clocks though... so that explains why!
HAve you tried replacing the paste n thermal pads on the card yet? should get you down to low 80's... -
Already replaced them with AS5. I know they are high, normally on stock or lower overclocks I get no highers than 80.

Hi all,
yes im a bit of a noob when it comes to all things OC and messing with expecially laptop gear.
built many a PC over the years, but first laptop so its a bit harder to physically see whats going on for me atm...
im looking to do a benchmark and possibly set up a 'gaming setting' that i can click the system over too when i want to run high demand games.
here are my stock stats:
I have downloaded EVGA Precision but wanted to check on here first what is safe for me to use for perhaps:
1) a benchmark initial test.
2) a game setting
Being unfamiliar with these devices i did not want to 'have a play' without a bit of consultation so i would really appreciate some help with this!
If ive failed to provide some information, let me know.
stock EVGA stats:

try starting with this 650/1100/1600
-
ok ill give it a shot, thanks.
-
here are my stock results (no OC)
dunno if thats normal or not...
my system set up is 2 posts above.
Uploaded with ImageShack.us -
looks normal for a stock run.
-
cheers mate.
hmm just seems low compared to this guy:

who you said:
yeah that is right for you config. thanks for posting -
the other issue im having is getting the memory up past about 1320 or so...
(in order to test this out 650/1100/1600) -
if he turn physX off he would get a similar score. -
