This may have been asked before but I couldn't find anything. I got my outlet m15x today and it's missing 3 things I was hoping it would come with and I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations on getting them. 1-The felt, or whatever the material is, sleeve that goes over it. 2-The name plaque on the bottom, mine didn't have one at all. 3-The display port to hdmi dongle that I thought came with them.

I don't know if anyone got an outlet one that came with them, or if anybody has any recommendations on how to get them but any advice and info would be appreciated. Thanks!

outlet items do not come with any of those.

    outlet comes with

paperback manual, 2 restore dvd and 1 microsoft works cd

    power adapter

i called in about the dongle and spoke to a rep and supervisor and had them overnight one for free. The sleeve will be tricky but the name plate is doable and i think the alienware rep was posting to contact him if you had issues with the name plate or you could call into the tech support as well.

Their is a reason you are saving so much money at outlet...Used/refurb...no extra accessories or packaging...but call tech support you will be surprised what you can get them to send you lolz.

I called and asked for the personalized name plate, and I received it in about 10 days, no charge. So you can get it, no problem.

I just called tech support and tried to get them to send me the dp-hdmi dongle, but was told that since mine was an outlet machine, I'd have to pay for that. As an aside, the little rubber feet on the palm rest that the screen closes against have come off, but they cannot just send 2 new feet, they would need to replace the whole palm rest assembly, I told them to forget it.

If I were you I would just have them replace the palm rest before your screen scratches.

i am suprised they did not get you a replacement call in and say you spoke to a tech support and they gave you the part number: 0TK041 and get you a part since you were missing that from your purchase. I had to call in couple times but eventually they went ahead and approved it once they found the part number.

here is one you can buy it is for a 10ft hdmi cable with display port as well

For only $9.22 each when QTY 50+ purchased - 10FT 28AWG DisplayPort to HDMI Cable - White | DisplayPort to HDMI Cables

they have lots of good cables and very fair prices so order up what you need from them and save on shipping.

I am confused, does the new one include the adapter or not? The outlet one supposed to include all the parts a new one have. The bad thing is Dell didn't list what kind of parts are included.

You can get the sleeve for about 4 dollars from ebay, it's what i did since mine got lost ^^

there's 11, 15 and 17 inch models of the sleeve, so pick the correct one!

No they do not include the display port adaptor with the outlet computers. They come with the computer, charger, battery, standard manual(not the fancy leather wrapped one), and discs only. You don't get the mouse pad, sleeve, adaptor, hat, etc. A lot of the outlet ones don't even come with the engraved name plate.

Then you got VERY lucky, most of the people on here that have ordered outlet rigs don't get those items.

it depends on the refurb type, some are just customer returns with no defects, those tend to have most of the original swag.

From Dell outlet, it says refurbish is refurbished to new, I think this means the outlet item should get everything same as new.

i wished that was the case but for most, they just get the laptop and psu with the win7, driver cd and manual. everything comes in a ugly brown box too.

I got mine from the outlet and was upset when it didn't come with everything too. I've been arguing with them for about a month for my nameplate. They say they sent it, but its been a month.

They would have made me pay for the sleeve and the adapter so i said forget it. Hopefully you can at least get your name plate.

I think that sometimes when you order outlet machines, they also end up not having them or overlisting and sometimes people get new machines when they were supposed to get the Outlet computer.

Is the sleeve in question just that thin piece of fabric? There's no real point in using that except if you are putting the laptop away in its box. That thing offers no protection whatsoever. A real neoprene sleeve is your best bet.
