    Hey guys,

So I've encountered a rather weird issue...I've read that in order to fix this you need to do a power drain...

Isn't there a simpler way to fix it? Anyways, I unplugged my M15X today and whittled it down to 19%. So I proceed to plug the cable in, once that is done the OSD says On AC Power. This is where it gets rather annoying. Hovering over the battery icon on the bottom right corner, I quickly notice that it says "Plugged in, not charging" my battery is stuck at 19% and I am starting to get worried. I've tried the FN+F2 keys and that has failed. Also tried replugging the AC Adapter both on the socket and on the laptop. Nada.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks a lot,
    Khy

Power drain is turning off, then take out battery and press power button for 20 sec.

    Not actually draining the battery.

    Joker, hahaha cool website :D

Inap, I realize that but apparently it's the solution for fixing this problem. Does that mean I have to do it every time I use my laptop on battery?

    I have had this one;
with the laptop up and running (while plugged in!!), remove the battery, wait a couple seconds and replace.
be careful to keep the screen up so you dont put it into sleep mode.
It seems to be a common issue that i cant replicate anylonger. -hubs-

There does seem to be an epidemic of this problem lately. Since I run nearly all the time on AC, I've taken to leaving the battery out most of the time. - It's said ti improve cooling (I'm not convinced), but may also improve battery life due to battery not being heated all the time. If you do this, it's important to charge the battery once in a while - in case you need it.

Only downside of this approachis that if p[ower goes out, computer stops instantly, for obvious reasons.

    FYI

I found my solution somewhere here on the forums (I can't remember where) but one solution was to leave it on and plugged in via the AC adapter and then disconnect your battery for ~20 seconds. I put mine back in afterwards and it worked just fine!

Mines been doing this suddenly lately too, going to call Dell with a few arm list needs and add this to the list.

Removing the battery and not using it does not prolong battery life. The cells deteriorate regardless.

I have had this problem soooo many times. one of the times, it was inap's solution of taking battery out while computer is on, and all the other times press FN+F2
