    7970m at .975 stock clocks
920xm at 20x multiplier [now at 19x, just got it today]
    150w PSU with center pin.

somewhere during the game, playing heroes of the storm, brick or laptop indicates that I removed my charger and am running on battery. That was at x21 and x20 on 3/4 cores. replugging my brick to powersource fixes this. now I'm running at x19 to see if it'll happen again.

Question: Why is this happening? is my brick shutting itself off? if so, why?

This is still that same brick that I had taped because the plastic housing on the jack connecting to the laptop itself is cracked.

    Edit: Figured it was overloading.

Query though, how is it overloading? because I still haven't removed the pin?

Yes? Run 920XM at stock and see if you get any problems. If no then its the PSU.

yeah it's the PSU. Been running x19, all good so far. not enough power for x20-21. Time to grab that 210w brick.

210W brick is huge and heavy as hell but I've had absolutely zero problems with it running 940XM at x26/27 and 7970M at stock volts 950/1420 (memory doesn't like to go much higher)

but that connector and taking out the pin should fix my prob. My concern is that will the heat from all the power draw be okay? won't that hurt my brick? that is for the 150w

Removing the pin may be a bad idea on your 150W PSU which sounds like it may be dying anyway. Best to keep that with pin in for charging the battery and use the 210W PSU with pin removed for gaming.
