New to these forums so start with hi everybody! I have a quick question about my m15x motherboard, so I just found out it died! Went to turn it on and the fans would start up but then nothing would happen what so ever! It just went silent and flashed some lights. I looked it up and found out that the flashing lights mean the motherboard had died =( I went on eBay and found this http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com.au/viewitem?itemId=160777624878&index=0&nav=SEARCH&nid=03897133084 but I wanted to know I'm in Australia and this is from America will I have a conflict with power supply of this motherboard or will my Australian power cord that I used on y old one work with this one? Thx

The motherboard is the same in both countries. Not familiar with the M15x. Have you already tried reseating RAM and other components?

You can check this out. For guidance on how to disassemble the computer you can look in youtube for the words "disassemble m15x".

Normally you need to do the following:

Remove the battery and adapter, press and hold the power button for 1 minute and try again.
Remove the memory and try one module at the time.
Remove the hard drive and try again.

If none of this works then the issue is most likely the motherboard.

Hey there buddy. I've had the same thing happen to my M15x before. The caps, numlock and scroll lock all flashed at intervals.

    tl;dr faulty motherboard.

My warranty had expired so I tried to fix it myself. I read somewhere that by removing the BIOS battery, it could work again and WOOHOO!!

Just give it a try, it should work most likely. It not too much hassle either. Battery, 2 screws and you're there already.
