Hi, guys. I`ve read a lot about the things I thought were wrong with my laptop, but nothing worked for me. So what is the problem: I have Intel M560 @2.67 gh and GTX 280M . I cant play STALKER and METRO without hiccups, my windows is working slowly, videoplay is out of sync - so I decided to replace the GPU with Ati Mobility Radeon hd5870. For one day everything worked perfectly - smooth gameplay and videoplay - and suddenly everything went wrong again. I replaced my 150W psu with 240W - at least the windows and videoplay improved. But only for a couple of hours - now everything sucks again! Help me, cause I think I will smash the bloody thing!

Everything killed - temps are normal - about 33-34 for cpu, 48-50 for gpu

for gpu you could try using gpu shark to see if performance state can be accesed

i take it you miss typed the cpu, but from what i remember you would need to have dell vbios 0 ( i think) in order for it to work properly and maybe also having to use a 3 party program for fan control...... but i could be wrong since i never used the 5870m on the M15x

Well, it is core i5-M560 @2.67 Ghz. Do you mean this vbios? http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails?driverId=3MM3D&fileId=2731097901 or should I get A01 - the description said "This VBIOS is meant ONLY for the ATI Mobility Radeon HD5870 video card offered in the M17x-R2" - i suppose it doesn't matter that I have m15x. My current vbios is BR036573.001. And the card is green, not red, from Clevo, I think. BTW my current bios is A09 - should I switch back to A08 when I switched to i5 from i7?

use hw info or something that will help you monitor why slowdowns occur. to see if cpu or gpu clocks drop. i had a strange issue on my m6600 sometimes when waking up from sleep pcielink speed would be "stuck" at 1gbps instead default 5gbps according to hw info and that would translate to incredible lag in games. i believe hw info has ability to create logs as graphs so i would recomend you use it while gaming for a short period to see what is the source of the problem.

I have read it, but its about dell card. I have read that the guys, who first upgraded m15x with hd 5870 from Clevo flashed it with the Clevo vbios - is it necessary to do so? Cause the card worked perfectly for a day before everything started to slow down. Temps are normal for tis Ati - max at heavy gameplay is under 90 C.
