    Hello,
I bought my alienware around 2 years ago and from several months I started having problems. As I'm playing the FPS drop rapidly after this going back to normal and the screen is freezing. From time to time it blinks and it back online, but in the most cases after freezing I need to restart. Can I assume that the problem is in the video card ?

Sorry for off-topic but I need some suggestion for upgrade of the video card, as well as RAM.

    Currently spec tech :

    Intel i7 Q 820 @ 1.73
    RAM : 2 x 4gb
    nVidia GeForce GTX 260m

Thank you in advance for the help :)

Have you opened up your laptop and cleaned out the vents and fans? Download hwinfo64 and check your temps on both idle (current) and load (max). Report back.
As for your ram, you have 8gb...why do you need more?
    Gpu options: 6970m, 6990m, 660m, 7970m

Thank you for the fast answer.
Two weeks ago vents and fans were cleaned. Cooling liquid changed.
Here is the report of hwinfo64.

Problem is that is showing kernel problem 257.38
Could it be from the video card drivers.

try a different driver after completely removing the current one. The best gpu options are the ones listed above.

Use CCleaner and Driver Sweeper to completely remove previous drivers
