Look for 204 pin, 1333 RAM.

Check the latency (CL). Latency determine the time wasted everytime you access the ram.

1333 MHz CL9 have almost the same speed as 1066 CL7 because what you gain in speed (1333 vs 1066) is lost with the access time (CL 9 vs CL 7).

The best option is 1333MHz CL7, which are not the common ram you may find.

    From your list only the "8GB Kit (4GBx2), 204-pin SODIMM, DDR3 PC3-10600 upgrades for Alienware M15x Laptop/Notebook, CT1026703 from Crucial.com" works.

All the others are rams for pc's which have 240 pins instead of 204 pins.

Unless your m15x has been build as a desktop pc but I doupt that.

It does but only when benching. I would just stick with cas9, cas7 runs too hot for my liking. Regular everyday things and gaming you won't see any noticeable difference

If ca7 runs so hot then why is more expensive ? and a "faster" choice ?

It's faster but like I said you'll prolly won't notice a difference in daily usage. But you will see a difference when benching. The extra speed isn't worth the extra heat for daily usage imho, but for benching then yes worth getting.

This is a super old thread, but anyway, go for HyperX DDR3-1600.

It doesn't matter if you don't reach that speed (1600), as far as I know, it will run at CAS7 when it runs at 1333 speed :)
