I purchased the Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB 1600mhz ram. What are the ram timings that everyone is using on the 15x? Just the standard timings that the 15x sets or are you bumping them up a little?

There isn't very much wiggle room for ram on the m15x. I have corsair vengeance 8gb 1600mhz running at 1333mhz. That seems to be the highest speed it will run. As to the timings I believe It runs at the timings my sticks dictate. 9-9-9-24 for mine I believe. I can't speak to the benefits or advantages of changing the timing of ram as I've never bothered. Good luck

Yes 1333mhz is the fastest speed the system supports.

You can however put 8GB modules in making up to 16GB possible and if you find 1600mhz CL 9 ram the ram will run at CL 8 in the M15x at 1333mhz. Then you can flash the ram to CL 7 and Enjoy super low latency.

Doesn't seem to make alot of difference though vs CL 9. Mainly for benchmarks. However with the new gen of GPU's approaching getting every drop of bandwidth out of the CPU might be worth it.

True, it's usually not a lot on performance. Pretty much noticeable only on benchmarks.

I have the same RAM as you purchased. With no configuration, It is automatically set to 1333Mhz @ 8-8-8-21 timings verified by CPU-Z. I don't bother lowering the timings as they are already pretty tight for that RAM speed.
