    Hello.

I bought my Alienware M15x in February of 2011. The computer has done extremely well up to date but recently I have had extreme lag problems. If i only have Google Chrome and Skype open and I swtich between the two programs, everything lags up. My mouse moves slow and if there are any sounds being played they become very distorted and hard to understand.

If I am in a call with somebody on Skype and I open up Chrome, this lag happens. It also happens randomly while I am playing World of Warcraft and League of Legends.

What is causing this problem and what can I do to fix it?

My laptop is about the same age as yours, and I was having some overheating problems and it was slowing down the laptop, if you have never cleaned the fans Id suggest to do so, try to a program called Speed Fan so you can keep track on the temp. Let me know if that helped you. Good Luck !

yea sounds like either your GPU is overheating or it could Be an HD problem Idk. I'd clean out the fans and then do a furmark run. then post your temps and we can tell if they are high or not. :)

Sounds indeed like Stealth Mode is on.. To see its on you could go each time to Command Center tab Alien Fusion (loads slow)

    or

Just install the stealthmode indicator application. (attached)

Very handy tool that puts an icon(a nice green alienware head) on your taskbar.. I use that 24/7 :)
