I seem to be getting random lag spikes in game (fps drop). It drops from 40 to 19 for about 20 seconds and then resumes.

This is kind of bugging me but not a major problem. I have just reinstalled windows and I am still getting this problem, so perhaps I'm missing a driver or something?

    Anyone have a suggestion?

    thanks

This sounds like throttling, what BIOS revision do you have?
Also make a GPU-Z log to confirm.

To check BIOS version press the F2 key when turning the system on.
I think it's driver related, what version did you install?
Also did you check with DPC Latency if you get any yellow or red spikes?

Open GPU-Z, go to the sensor tab and then check log file. It will start to log immediately.

The BIOS version can also be checked with a program like HWinfo32 or CPU-Z if you prefer. In CPU-Z for example it can be found in the mainboard tab in the same line as the model (M15x) as far as I remember.

Download DPC Latency checker let it run for a while, play games, scroll thru .pdf files, browse internet sites and post a snip.
