    Revert to windows 7 from win 8.1 - pros and cons?

    Hi all,

    I did a windows update to 8 probably 6 months ago. The rig still seems to run fine, but wondering if it would perform better or worse if I reverted to windows 7 professional (fresh reinstall)?

    Your thoughts?

    I've read some games run better on windows 8 such as far cry 3, but the m15x definitely isn't optimised to run windows 8 (no proper BIOS support). It depends what kind of performance you're after.

    IT's better to get back to Windows 7 as the m15x was meant to be used with it rather than Windows 8.

    It was meant...but are there any downsides of using windows 8? I didn't notice any difference, except that windows 8 boots faster.

    Lack of drivers support from manufacturers and some games not playing properly yet are the only downsides. But nothing that clearly says... GO BACK! :p
