My M15x was shelved when i got my super duper gaming PC :)

I just ordered the GTX 660m from Eurocom.

I am a bit bothered about what i read here.

Do I need to flash a modded VBIOS? Is it necessary?

Does the upgrade kit come with a modded driver? or do I have to mod the inf myself?

    Wish me luck!!! :)

For me it wasn't pure plug and play. When I installed it, only the external vga connection would work. The displayport/internal monitor was not being detected.

You can read the details at the end of the 560m thread but I ended up getting a vbios from [Guide] M15x with Nvidia GTX 660m The process to update was easy and quick and my 660m is awesome for what I use it for. Good luck!

    edit :

So I guess what I am saying is, give it a try. You don't need to flash to ensure that the card works, and maybe you get lucky and they load the correct vbios on it the first time. If not, it's very easy to flash the vbios.

I cannot download the file from techinferno :( i just signed up. Any other place I can get it from? Anyways, the card will only arrive on 10/10 (i am in the mid east), i'll just search for similar vbios links and get back to you guys if its more or less the same VBIOS.

    thanks guys!

I did it! 660m is now on my M15x. Had a little bump on the VBIOS... I was hesitating to force flash it coz it was detecting that it was not of the same hardware ID or something. Was getting anxious so I just flashed it anyway :)

Can't wait to go home and test my games on it! Gonna shelf my desktop this time. hahahaha

    Thanks for the help guys!
