    Friends want me to join them in Rift, seeing that its large scale pvp mmo, wanted to see how the m15x with a 5850m is handling it. If anyone plays or has played would appreciate some feedback.

    I usually use this site to find out if my system can handle games:
    Can You Run It?
    You just need to download a plugin, and it will check your system and rate your computer according to min req and recommended req.

    You should be able to play the game fluently :)

    @BLiTz_X

    When I was playing the free trial of rift, i had the settings all maxed out on my 5850 - it played the game flawlessly. it should be no problem for you. although i have mine oc'ed to 800/1000 with the latest ati driver so yeah.

    You should be fine at the native resolution on medium to high settings. My m11x R1 played it pretty smoothly, only got choppy trying to play on @1080p on an external monitor, especially during a rift. when i had the m15x with the 260m it ran pretty well also, just struggled at high resolutions. Your card is a tad more powerful than the 260m so you should be ok. . The good thing is that rift looks pretty darn good at lower settings so if you have some issues, you could tinker with the visuals a bit for best performance.

    OT- You'll love Rift, I wasn't into MMORPGs before playing this game. Its really a load of fun. The soul system is pretty darn cool, almost too many combinations.

    I pretty much have it at the highest settings and it runs very well. It will drop slightly, around 30fps during raids but to be expected with the amount happening on screen. It'll mainly drain the CPU more than the graphics anyway, as with most MMO's.

    Also, a thumbs up here for Rift, one of the best I've played.

    started up my trial, get 30 frames or lower on med-high settings and around 50-60 on low. Have the latest drivers and all my other games run flawless

    Hey, I have rift and my specs are

    inter core i5 m 540 @ 2.53 ghz (4 cpus), ~2.5GHz
    4mb ram
    ati mobility radeon hd 5850

    I dont know if you need anymore stats, I also run at 1600X 900, and I can only run the game on low settings. on high I get like 15 fps, medium about 20-25 . Low I get good. Idk if thats a problem with my machine, or what. Just nothing but troubles with this machine lol

    I would check to see if your drivers are up to date, I got 15fps on high with my M11x r1 on 1080p!
