Hey just purchased a 256GB Samsung 470 series Serial ATA and would like to swap it out with the current drive which is a st9500 Seagate drive SATA. I tried to complete this last night and discovered that it physically would not happen. The connector that attaches to the current Seagate drive would not fit with the Samsung SSD. I am not sure if I need to purchase a new type of disk connector to match it up or if i'm doing something wrong. If you could please assist me that would be awesome, Thanks

You need to remove the interposer from the HDD and put it on the connector of the SSD, should work like a charm. Can you post some pictures to explain what's exactly the problem?

    Edit: Service manual page 18...

As svl7 says, there is an adapter on the end of the drive that needs to be moved to the new drive. I made the same mistake, and actually took a drive back to the store because I thought it didn't fit. Easy and common mistake.

Good luck with your new SSD!

The solution lies with what svl and other guys have already said. Try it out. It's a walk in the park.
    Cheers
