Hi all, I don't burn many CDs and the last one I burned went fine. But tonight I tried to burn 2 different images and both appeared to burn fine. But when I put the disks in, nothing was on them. Tried shutting down, different media and 3 different burning programs. All failed.

    Has anyone else seen this?

I did notice that on reboot, if there was not a cd in the drive, the drive icon was missing from explorer.

    Any ideas?

Do you have the DVD or the Blu-Ray drive?

I have the DVD drive. I've now tried 4 different types of media. I am suspecting a short or disconnected cable because I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers. Still having issues. My M15x is 1 year old as of January.

do those disks work in another dvd drive?
i had a similar issue where i could not see any disk data that i had burned.

i ended up using this as an excuse to do the ssd hdd mod.

Xeroxide, good idea on the mod!

Actually, I just ran one of those cd cleaner disks through it and it burned a DVD-rw. It was failing on it before. Maybe it's fixed now? Not sure. I can go through some cd/DVD drives faster than anyone I know.
