    Hi,

So I found an Alienware m15x on a Belgian second-hand webstore.

    It's got these specs:
    CPU: i7-740QM
    GPU: Radeon 6990m
    RAM: 16GB 1333MHz
    HDD: 500GB 7200rpm
    Display: 15" 1080p

This laptop is just PERFECT to me; HD-screen, nice cpu and gpu and a very nice price!

Now I was worried about the warranty, since this laptop's got a first-gen i7. I asked the seller about it and he told me that the warranty of 2 years just started 2 months ago, because this laptop was one of the unsold laptops from DELL. So it will last for another 22 months. He sells this laptop for 700€.

I'm kinda confused now ... can this be correct? It all seems quite strange for me, that DELL would sell a 2-year old m15x AND still give warranty.

Any opinions will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,

    skrallbe

the M15x officially never supported the 6990m, or the 16gb of ram so unless he also ships the original equipment dell wont honor the warranty. warranty does seem strange, but dell does sell all there products with warranty

Both of the statements are correct. We need the original components to honor the warranty and we sell all our systems with warranty. Anyway you can check the warranty online. All you need is the computer's service tag.

Thanks for clearing that out :)
We exchanged a few more mails and it appears he doesn't live here in Belgium (so it would be easy to check out the laptop) but in Italy...
No way I'm going to buy it then :)
