Hello, I am looking for an M15X and I have found one for sale here: Alienware M15X, i7 8GB GT240M - City of Toronto Computers For Sale - Kijiji City of Toronto Canada.

    The specs are:
    Windows 7
    i7 820QM
    Nvidia GeForce GT 240M
    6GB RAM
    500GB HDD
    Original extended battery
    No warranty

It is very scratched up as you can see in the pictures, and the asking price is $700. I know this is overpriced, so I'm wondering what is a good price to offer for this. any input is highly appreciated, thanks!

That thing looks like it has been dropped a dozen times, and on hard surfaces. You're looking at dents and scratches on Aluminum, which is pretty tough stuff. I wouldn't buy that computer expecting to use it for gaming or everyday tasks. If I were to buy it, I'd buy it for parts. Maybe between $300 - $500 is reasonable offer, nothing more.

Thanks for the input. The guy said that it only has 2 hours of battery life under light internet surfing and doesn't know if you can turn the discrete nvidia gpu off . Is there a way in the Bios to turn off the gpu like in the M17X to get extra battery life?

m15x only has 1 gpu. when in slow state, it just downclocks, saving battery life. also its not too bad that it has 2h battery life. mine probs wouldnt last an hour. if you own this laptop, you will probably be connected to mains all the time anyway

I own that same model but with an i3 and 4 gigs of ram. Its heavy as and the normal battery gets about an hour of web browsing. Keep in mind, the extended battery sticks off the back of the unit. My unit with the 240m can play any game, just not always at the highest settings and definitely not at 1080p. As an example, I can get play very high on Metro 2033 if I play at 720p (which looks good on a tv). It also doesn't tell you the resolution but I think there was a 1080p model, though mine was 1600x900

While mine has proven very durable, I would pass on this. You can get a Lenovo Y500 with 2 better graphics cards and about 2/3 the weight and 2 hours of battery standard for the same price

Looks to be fairly superficial damage however $700 for a 240M and 840qm is way too steep!

That m15x looks like it has been treated bad :( and that price for that is crazy for them specs and damage lol. I brought all my parts in my sig cheaper than the price for that M15x.

    I don't think it's a good idea to get it. I wouldn't.
