    But I *just* purchased a new m15x :)

First of all thankyou for all the advice from the forum!!!

In the end I went with my gut instinct and took the 1600x900 screen. Hopefully I dont sit there listlessly wishing for the 1080p while never knowing if there was in fact any difference at all. Figured since I refuse to shell out 100£ for a bluray player let alone actually pay to buy bluray discs (and cant, as I travel constantly) it was better to stick to the gaming res.

In the end, this is what I got for £1587
    -----------------------
    Cosmic Black
    Core i5-540
    4GB DDR3 1333mhz ram
    Ati radeon 5850
    1600x900 rez HD+ screen
    256gb SSD (ouch 400£)
    DVD writer/burner
    6cell battery
    -----------------------------
Bluetooth (didnt ask for it, probably should of asked them to remove it... will it generate heat?)

Hopefully will see it soon as I have a month off starting next week! This is officially the most expensive computer I have ever bought. Wanted a desktop but cant have one because I am a contractor from Australia and move about a lot, so alienware is the next best thing!

Just wanted to add, I know people dont like the dell samsung SSD, but as I understand it, those people are comparing it to OCZ vertex 2 which is only better because its sata 3 which alienware doesnt support. From what I've read the samsung SSD did very very well against the vertex one and the early intel ssds. And 400£ is not a bad price really, save me doing the upgrade anyway :)

The Bluetooth card is a very small integrated circuit board, no heat.
I would leave it in and recommend you consider a bluetooth mouse in the near future.
Not needing to use a USB port ( for mouse ) priceless !

agreed, bluetooth mouse is sweet. especially since the touch pad sucks. hopefully the fix will come at the end of the month for that.

I actually prefer mice where you plug in the small receiver. I got really annoyed after my mum called me the nth time that her bluetooth mouse doesnt work (because something happened with the synchro...)
