    Strange LCD Boot Problem

My M15X sometimes boots and I can tell it has started as the webcam logs me on and I can hear the Windows Log in noise, but the LCD screen never comes on. Doesn't show the Alienware Head at boot or Windows is stating, nothing. It is an intermittent issue, it happens approx every 3 or 4 boots and it seems to occur more when I hibernate the laptop. Sometimes pulling out the ac cable and plugging it back in turns the LCD screen on but not always. The power drain trick works everytime, so I don't know what's causing the problem.

Does anyone else have this issue? Should I ring Dell or does anyone have any ideas?

I am dual booting but that shouldn't make any difference. All my drivers are up to date and I am using 10.11 Catalyst Control Centre, although I still had this problem with 10.10 and 10.9.

By the way I have a 920xm and 5850 both of which I upgraded myself but that was ages ago and the laptop was fine afterwards. I also have the 9 cell battery, so it shouldn't be a problem.

    Can anyone help?

I have the same issue. It's very rare but it does happen every now and then. The part that makes it bothersome is that I dual boot Backtrack 4 and Windows, so if I don't opt for the Windows at startup, I'll have to go through the boot process for BT4 (or do a force shut down, which I try to avoid).
