For some reason my system will lock up. It's random and not related to any sort of load. I can turn it on for the first time all day and open Chrome and it will suddenly just lock up. Had it happen yesterday while in DayZ... Temps were all 40C-50C on the GPU and CPU. It will not respond to anything it's a total freeze that requires I power it down forcibly.

Not sure what it can be. Never had this issue. Only major system changes would be a 7970M within the past 30 days. But while I am thinking about it, I would say the issue hasn't started until after flashing my gfx card to the 0.975 volt vBIOS. Possibly blame?

0.975 is perfectly safe for the 7970m. Also it runs at less voltage under idle. Now if it was doing it exclusively under load than it could be the culprit. But I think that would be unlikely given the situation. replace the cpu with your old one if you still have it and repeat what made you freeze. If it's not reproducible then that's your bad part. given what you said I'd look at ram, cpu and eventually motherboard as the issue. Good luck man

Jumping's... You guys just jogged my memory.... I remember that I had this issue seven months ago and had to replace a stick of memory... Thanks!

I know for sure that has to be the issue here...
