    Hello,

My m15x was overheating so today I opened it up, cleaned the fans and then applied some mx5 thermal paste.

When attempting to remove the front panel I accidentially dislodged the connector which is in red here: http://i.imgur.com/sIlDk.jpg it was glued to the circuit. I have pushed it back down and it appears to be making a solid connection.

But the laptop won't turn on, when the power is in none of the alien heads illuminate including the one on the rear.

    What should I do?

Also can you power the laptop on without using the front panel button?

I guess you should replace the hinge cover, or that least the switch board. This hinge cover shuld have the piece you need, I would ask before you buy. There are some others on there so I would look. I do not think you can power it on without that button though.

You must have ripped that sucker off :D

    thanks for the reply,

It looks like i'll have to try buying one of those!

The only puzzling thing is that there is no visable damage to it as it was glued in originally and nothing snapped off.

Must not be making a complete connection somewhere, but it is a cheap fix thankfully.
