I have had enough of enabling stealth mode by accident so I created my own solution to the fix.

If anyone else has other solutions, share them by all means!

Didn't have any electrical tape easily accessible :(

As you can see this is just a sample before the actual product goes on sale ^_^

My M15x likes to report that Stealth Mode is off even though it's on. As such, I have to enable, then disable Stealth Mode via that button constantly. Will do so before launching any given game, otherwise a majority of the time I find I'm having to alt-tab out of the game to do so after the fact. Stealth Mode is truly an annoyance! DELL needs to offer us a way to permanently disable Stealth Mode.

I honestly don't see the point of it... The damn laptop downclocks itself on battery so what in blazes is the point of running it in stealth while plugged in? To save power if you're using a converter in a car or airplane or something?

It just doesn't make sense to me.

yeah i thought exactly the same thing. and even if its for a plane or car, the times you will need it, does it really justify putting it on a TOUCH SENSITIVE BAR! i mean come on, i'd rather a mute button there instead of the frikin fn+f3... heck they could have swapped stealth out with that keybind.

btw to those who keep having it turn on automatically, have you tried throttlestop by unclewebb? if you tick just the first two options under settings (clock modulation and chipset clock mod) set them to 100% and click "turn on". your stealth mode button won't do squat... at least for cpu throttling

I think it's for using when plugged into very low-power outlets (in a car/train?) or when you don't want the fan to wake up your bedmate. But yeah given that more people will use it rarely/never, having it on an oops-button is braindead.

(And having the "turn wireless off" button on one is equally horrible for us softcore types who game on wireless. I mean, zomg...)

(Whoops sorry for necroposting in so many threads on this haha.)
