Hi all my M15X touchpad stopped working after a windows update today. I can still use the touchpad in the login screen however once I've logged in my touchpad just stops working(the lights around the touchpad also switches off).

Everything is fine until the update today. I am currently using Windows 7 64bit. Can anyone help me witth this?

    Thanks.

EDIT: I could still find the Synaptic Pointing Device Driver in the cotrol panel.

I ran into the same issue recently. Even if I went back to the login screen after logging in before, the touchpad still remained inactive. I was able to revert the update and my mouse regained functionality again.

I got this fixed(more like a way around). I plug my mouse in and went into control panel then select mouse icon. Then I went into device settings tab and unchecked the "Disable internal pointing device when external USB pointing device is attached".

I'm glad you got it sorted out with that. Usually System Restore fixes the issue.

Hi all. Sorry to post in an old thread but I thought it would be better than starting a new one. My touchpad has suddenly stopped working. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Synaptics drivers, tried uninstalling mouse drivers from Device Manager to no-avail. I had read somewhere that I need to check in Command Centre. When I clicked on Alien Touch, I got an error message (image attached).

Can someone please look into this and assist me? Thanks!

    Hi mrigankp,

Try re installing the Command Center following the steps in this article, download the Command Center here, do not use the one in the resource DVD.

    Hi Alienware-Natalia_J,

I followed the steps but my touchpad still doesn't work. Is there any other solution?

You should try restoring the system back to when the issue wasn't happening, this tutorial explains how.
