    Hi all

After looking at the main thread on this, i burned an iso and rebooted. The BIOS update happened and the EC flash thing came on - encountered the y issue and i manually flashed the EC - with seemingly the wrong bin file :(

And now the system wont power on - is there anyway to revert this back and retry?

    Regards

Thanks, will give this a try - although the power button does nothing now, so not sure how starting with a USB stick will do anything :(

the bio update from A08 to A09 seemed to work, the EC flash borked im sure (as i used the wrong file on the manual flash - the W67_000.bin rather than the correct.

(used that one as the dflash command showed the usage options with a bin file and that was the on ,bin i could see in the dir).

    Thanks for the link tho.

see if doing a power drain with the cmos battery taken out will help. otherwise if you can't get to the bios screen there is nothing that you can do, other then calling dell. good luck.

Thanks again for the help, didnt work as the EC was borked and the power button just didnt respond.

Dell tech support did all the usual easy checks - but new mobo on the way thursday!

Slap on the wrists for me methinks! updated bios for years with no bother - now i choose the week after getting my Alienware to mess up a BIOs update. Oh well, lesson learned!
