    Hi,

My laptop can't be turned on, so I called dell technical support to come to my place to fix it. After Dell send a technician to replace the motherboard, the laptop is still not turned on.

In this situation, can I ask them to give me a new system or I have to wait till they say that?

    Kind regards,

I don't think they'd replace it that soon as long as they have part stock and this isn't recurring yet.

My experience with a replacement was with Dell on a precision 6400. It wasn't until the third onsite repair attempt that they considered and offered to a replacement.

Just my experience. AW may be different one this one

That depends on the specific case. I think that the best option at the moment is to send the computer to depot.

Now they said they are going to send more parts and contact me when the parts are arrived. I have the next-bussiness day service. This is so bad.

Next time ask for the depot service, it works better than the NBD when it comes to this type of issues.

I contacted them several times this week. They called me Friday 5:20 to say the parts are not available at the moment, they will contact me in few days. I mean are they going to try replace everything to the refurbished parts? Is it right?

mind if I ask what warranty you having? complete cover? as for mine, i have limited parts only warranty, and dell replaced almost everything for my m15x, and i still having heat issue with my alienware m15x, so I tried to ask for system replacement and they just simply reply that they will not replace a system for me as because of my warranty cover only the parts. I'm really disappointed with this laptop keep on failing me and cannot get my problem solved. By the way I'm from malaysia, spec is i7 720qm, gtx260m, 500gb hdd...

I have complete care and next business day service. After two weeks, the technician came and replaced almost everything, but it is still not working. Now they said its a graphic card issue, and ask me to wait another day.

Sorry about the inconveniences but it depends on the country. Not all warranty guidelines are the same on every country. It varies due to legislation.

Yeah i understand it but i found quite a few cases that some of the customer they got their system replacement. This is only depend on the technician who are really kind to help or not because it takes a lot of time to go through second level department or so. I just cant met anyone who are kind to help. I'm very sad, I can no longer gaming. The heat issue can cause my hand couldn't touch the keyboard and the touch pad panel there until I need to use a book to put on the panel then I put my hand on the book but I still can feel the heat go through the book. This is really frustrating...

What about Goodwill Gesture? Does that rely on specific country legislation? Alienware notebooks cost considerably more than most, quality of after sales support should be in line with the premium price paid. It would be nice if you could be influential in the right places to help this guy out. Rather than sift through these forums mostly for a public relations presence.

This is the most stupid company I have ever seen. They said my refund was rejected my the bank system on Friday. So they are asking me to send the card details again. Fcking hell! Can't fix the laptop for a month then even can't transfer the money for a month!!!!!! Bloody idiots!
