    Good evening everyone.
    Sorry for panicking.
I've got this laptop from a friend.
    It's an Alienware M15X.

It just comes with a unit, a pre-installed windows-7 ultimate without the activation code,
    and the adaptor.

Basically what I wanted to do is to reset the entire thing WITHOUT the use of recovery cd.

Now I've been googling all day.
    - I've tried pressing F8 once it starts, it does nothing; it just boots to windows
    - I've tried shifting the priority to boot from CD first while inserting a fresh copy of 64 bit
Windows 7 Home Premium I got from Singapore. It just boots to windows
    - I've tried booting to windows 7 ultimate and just inserting the windows 7 Home Premium 64
bit cd. It doesn't read anything! When I click the drive, it just says 'Please insert disk' while
it ejects the currently inserted disk
    - I've tried to change the CD region from 4 to 3, it says unable to do it! Please insert a media
with region 3 and when I did, it says fail to change region.
    - I've also tried suggestion from this web;
How to factory reset Alienware M15x? - Yahoo! Answers
    but it doesn't work!

    I'm running out of ideas.
    Can you guys help me?

PS: I just realised that I spelled Factory as 'Facoty' as topic title >_<.
Can someone change it? Small matter anyhew~

if the rom device can read the disk just copy all the files from the disk onto the desktop in a folder and drop them into a formatted ntfs usb pen, reboot press f8 and boot from usb. problem solved.
as for changing the region of the rom device if its been changed to many times it will lock to the last region it was set to ! i think the number of times it can be changed is 4 times. good luck and hope everything goes well for you.

just so you know, when you copy the files from the desktop to the usb pen make sure you take them out of the folder on the desktop so all the files are loose on the pen.

When I copy it to the USB, do I just copy it in the main?
or can I create a sub folder for it?

As for the changing the region, I still have 4 chances.
Just that it won't change at all

no, when copying to usb pen do not create a sub folder, or it will not work.
as for changing the region i do not know the reason why it will not change, only reason why it wouldn't change is if it was locked to that region due to many changes already.

I've already copied it as you suggested.
    Plugged in the USB.
Set the boot order from BIOS to be USB first before HDD.
But it still wont boot from the USB. It just goes straight
to the windows as if it's booting from the HDD >_<.

ok go Microsoft Store Online and download the usb prep tool from microsoft. once its formatted the usb pen and put some boot.ini files on it will become bootable, then copy files directly from the cd/dvd onto the usb pen. either use del/f2 and go into bios and change boot order to usb first or press f12 and select boot from usb device.

You need that tool to be able to boot from it. I don't think there is anyway of restoring it without doing a clean install
