Does anybody know how to completely disable that annoying VGA port. It detects an unknown VGA CRT monitor in there and is giving me hell of a lot problems. Its driving me insane.

    Im using a 6970m card.

When starting up Rage on my plasma that is running 1090p it jumps down to a low resolution and wont let me to change it. And when i check it is in HDMI+VGA mode even though i set it to only HDMI mode.

    Help please

Yeah, had some issues with this as well, sometimes the card was set to use 2 displays all of the time which resulted in higher idle clocks, heat etc.

Right click on the desktop, screen resolution. Choose "1. Mobile PC Display" as display, and set it to "show display on 1" only. This should solve the issues, and as soon as you connect to an external screen you should be able to choose the correct display config.

I'm not sure what's the cause of this "generic monitor", but it seems driver/VBIOS related. Didn't have this issue all the time. Will have to investigate a bit to find out more.

Yeah that i have done in the past. But now with rage i couldnt do that, it insisted on either hopping over to the AW screen, or thinking that my plasma is the generic monitor and only letting it go to 12xx something resolution.
