Hi guys. I have recently updated to Windows 8.1 from 8.0. Everything is fine but I have noticed 2 issues:

    1. I have noticed a bit of a lag when I type something, for example a URL or disk cleanup in the search section of windows.

    2. The visuals in Google Chrome, Device Manager etc look a bit strange (please see attachment)... as in, it seems like there are issues with the graphics card driver

I am slightly frustrated with this. I have re-installed video card drivers but it still stays the same.

Can someone please suggest any possible solutions?

    Thanks in advance.

I installed 8.1 on my Alienware Aurora R4 and experienced issues with the video card driver as well. Went to ATI website and they aren't offering any non-beta drivers at this time, but Dell however had an update which corrected my issues. I would suggest going to support.dell.com and either select your system or enter your service tag number and see if they have released an updated video driver for your M15x. If they have, install that bad boy and give it a go!

No drivers yet for my system :(
The AMD Beta driver doesn't do any good. I guess I'll just have to wait...
    Thanks!

Bummer!!! Give it some time they will have one out for your system. I know it's aggravating, but just try to be patient AMD will have one out which will hopefully resolve the issue.

8.1 just came out, it may take a while until there is an official launch of video drivers.

I had exactly this issue too, when I upgraded yesterday.

It wasn't drivers, it was a setting under display, where somehow the settings had set themselves to 125% rather than the standard 100%. I bet that's it.

Right click your desktop, go to personalize, click display (bottom left) and then set the size to 100% from 125%.
